G.P. Charitable Trust
Actor Dileep had set up a charitable trust in memory of his father, named as G.P. Charitable Trust for organizing welfare programmes for the poor and helping the needy.
Former Union Minister of State for External Affairs Shashi Tharoor has urged people to join hands in helping the poor in society. In his address after inaugurating the G.P. Charitable Trust at Aluva , Mr. Tharoor said that these welfare programmes for the poor will help them tremendously.
He said that society needs organizations that support the economically backward sections. Mr. Tharoor lauded the efforts being made by welfare trusts in helping the needy. They have also decided to take up sponsorship of children of poor families.
Then Fisheries Minister S. Sharma; MPs K. P. Dhanapalan, and P. Rajeev ; MLAs K.B. Ganesh Kumar, A. M. Yousuf, V. D.Satheesan; and Smitha Gopi, Chairperson of Aluva municipality, spoke on the inagural occasion. The trust will soon come up with various programmes to help the needy, said Dileep.

Unlike others GP Trust has no sponsors or tie ups with any big brands on this initiative. GP Trust is purely running on the donations from its trustees. As of now we are associated with RCC Trivandrum to provide help for breast cancer patients. Also we have association with Ernakulam Medical Trust Hospital to help three patients per month for their dialysis. Surakshitha Bhavanam for Homeless: Surakshitha Bhavanam is a program for building homes for 1000 families who own land but are unable to build home. This mega project has an estimated expense of 55 crores. Widows will get preference in this project and the expected cost of making a single home is 5.5 lakhs.What we don’t do: We don’t collect money from public to do any kind of charities.
