G.P. Charitable Trust
Actor Dileep had set up a charitable trust in memory of his father, named as G.P. Charitable Trust for organising welfare programmes for the poor and helping the needy.
Former Union Minister of State for External Affairs Shashi Tharoor has urged the people to join hands in helping the poor in society. In his address after inaugurating the G.P. Charitable Trust at Aluva , Mr. Tharoor said that this welfare programmes for the poor will help them tremendously. />
He said that society needs organisations that support the economically backward sections. The Minister lauded the efforts being made by welfare trusts in helping the needy. They have also decided to take up sponsorship of children of poor families.
Fisheries Minister S. Sharma; MPs K. P. Dhanapalan, and P. Rajeev ; MLAs K.B. Ganesh Kumar, A. M. Yousuf, V. D.Satheesan; and Smitha Gopi, Chairperson of Aluva municipality, spoke on the inagural occasion. The trust will soon come up with various programmes to help the needy, said Dileep.
